Diver Says Tiny Bones, Toys Found In Caylee Anthony Search

ORLANDO, Fla. – Divers searching for a sign of missing toddler Caylee Anthony on Thursday found a plastic bag with toys and small bones weighted down by bricks, bounty hunter Leonard Padilla said.

Inside the bag were two toys and bones the size of fingers and toes, diver David Badalai told WESH 2 News. There also was a shamrock, which Padilla said was a favorite symbol of mother Casey Anthony.

The bag, Balalai said, was held underwater by two bricks.

While law enforcement, including the FBI and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office headed to the scene, divers continued to pull items out of the water. The Sheriff’s Office plans a media briefing later this afternoon, but told WESH 2 News reporter Bob Kealing that the bag is of no value as evidence, and its lead investigator in the case left the scene.

From the air, Chopper 2 pilot Dan McCarthy said divers could be seen going down into drains and handing bags and other items up.

Thousands Of Pages Of Tips Released In Caylee Anthony Case

From WFTV newsroom:

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The case against Casey will go to court earlier than expected. At Casey Anthony’s arraignment hearing Tuesday, a judge moved the trial date up to January 5. Casey had been scheduled to be tried for first-degree murder in February.

Also, late Tuesday afternoon, Eyewitness News obtained copies of hundreds of the tip calls in the case from people who claimed they know what happened to Caylee.

Casey Anthony’s family has criticized investigators for not following up on all the leads on Caylee’s whereabouts that have been called in. But what Eyewitness News found in pouring through hundreds of them is that most have come from psychics who believe Caylee is dead and that her mother or other relatives are involved.

Tipsters have sent drawings, photos and even maps. One said Casey’s tattoo is a clue that could lead to Caylee’s body. Others said she “is where a lot of exotic birds are and they are in cages.” One tipster saw “a hula dancer and a grass skirt”. Another said “a drug dealer was involved who looks like Snoop Dog. One woman blamed her ex-boyfriend for Caylee’s murder. God, Caylee’s spirit and even Caylee’s energy were said to be the psychics’ sources.

After going through almost half of the 1,800 pages of tips that were released late Tuesday afternoon, Eyewitness News found only two that have not come from psychics. One of them told investigators that Casey killed Caylee’s father, whoever he is, and the other believes to have seen Caylee in June in Wyoming.

Tipsters reported having dreams or visions that Caylee’s body is in a swamp, underground, in the woods, or burned. Some suggest Casey did it alone, while others suggest that she had help.

A few tipsters said they believe Caylee is alive.

One psychic told investigators that “Casey has demons in her and will never give information.”

Casey Anthony’s Parents To Meet With Detectives Again

George and Cindy Anthony were back at the sheriff’s office meeting with investigators Monday morning, a day after their daughter refused their scheduled visitation.

Meanwhile, investigators said they received a tip of a suspicious smell in a wooded area near a gas station around three miles from the Anthony home. Investigators were briefly on the scene Monday afternoon off Lee Vista Boulevard, just west of Narcoossee. An investigator on the scene told Eyewitness News the tip was related to the search for missing 3-year-old Caylee Anthony, but said they found nothing of interest in the case.

Monday marked 27 days since now 3-year-old Caylee Anthony was reported missing. The missing girl’s grandparents said Monday’s meeting with investigators was scheduled last week and was an opportunity for them to ask investigators questions about the search for Caylee.

“Just to get some information from the search department to see how the search is going for our granddaughter,” George Anthony told Eyewitness News as he and Cindy walked into the sheriff’s office Monday morning. “It’s just a question and answer period for both of us. We have some questions for them. This is going to be an ongoing thing we do with them until our granddaughter comes home.”

When they are done, George Anthony told Eyewitness News he’s hitting the highway with a mobile billboard in tow. He readied his car Monday to pull a trailer with his missing granddaughter’s picture on it and a number to call with information. George said he’ll drive the mobile billboard along SR-50, the 408 and the 417.
