Thank you Defamer for posting this. I actually agree with Clay in regards to American Idol needs to get back to basics and find the “raw” talent that we loved in the first three seasons.
It seems now, every contestant has had some sort of musical background (whether it be already having made a record, had a record deal, broadway musicals, etc.) and has been exposed to the industry in some sort of fashion.
I don’t think Clay was trashing Lambert as much as he was just venting about the process in which the contestants are chosen. Let’s just agree that you either LOVED Adam or you HATED him. I think he is a great entertainer. He proved that this season. But, he has been trained to be a performer. Especially having the opportunity to perform on Broadway in “Wicked”.
What happened to the regular joes of America that just want one shot to be heard and have a chance?? What do you guys think? Read the Clay Aiken blog and tell me what you think.
