Thank you Defamer for posting this. I actually agree with Clay in regards to American Idol needs to get back to basics and find the “raw” talent that we loved in the first three seasons.
It seems now, every contestant has had some sort of musical background (whether it be already having made a record, had a record deal, broadway musicals, etc.) and has been exposed to the industry in some sort of fashion.
I don’t think Clay was trashing Lambert as much as he was just venting about the process in which the contestants are chosen. Let’s just agree that you either LOVED Adam or you HATED him. I think he is a great entertainer. He proved that this season. But, he has been trained to be a performer. Especially having the opportunity to perform on Broadway in “Wicked”.
What happened to the regular joes of America that just want one shot to be heard and have a chance?? What do you guys think? Read the Clay Aiken blog and tell me what you think.
Actor Will Smith has agreed to produce a movie telling the true story of a man who rescued hundreds of people after Hurricane Katrina, reports suggest.
Ex-marine John Keller was nicknamed The Can Man after saving 244 people from flooding during the disaster.
Trade newspaper The Hollywood Reporter said that Smith’s production company and Sony Pictures had bought the movie rights to his story.
John Lee Hancock will direct the project, called The American Can.
Hancock, whose previous films include The Rookie and The Alamo, will also write the script.
Jonathan Ross’s Saturday morning show on BBC Radio 2 is to be pre-recorded 24 hours in advance, the BBC has revealed.
Recording the show ahead of broadcast, “enables us to ensure the programme is watertight”, said a spokeswoman.
Ross, she continued, was “absolutely on board” with the decision, as it meant “he gets his weekends back”.
She said the move was unrelated to one incident, but was “a measured decision taking everything that has happened in the last few months”.
She did not confirm whether listeners will be told the show had been pre-recorded when it is aired.
The Nintendo Wii has positioned itself as the gaming console for everybody. As it turns out, that includes the Queen of England. Well, sort of. It’s not like Her Royal Highness went down to Wal-Mart and bought one with her summer job savings. Rather, she was given a special version by gaming company THQ.
What makes the Queen’s “Royal Wii” different? It’s gold-plated, sucka! None of that lame white plastic for Buckingham Palace — the Queen needs her bling! Gaming blog Joystiq reports that the gaming company is hopeful that the PR stunt “will amuse Queen Elizabeth.”
