Is it me or is anyone else wondering WTF?? What happened to his face? Is it plastic surgery, too many drugs and alcohol, too many bar brawls?? For a man who use to be quite nice to look at, he is a hot mess now!! He showed up to the Golden Globe Awards dressed in a horrible outfit and his hair looked greasy, dirty something awful!
He won an award for his performance as washed-up pro wrestler Randy “The Ram” Robinson in The Wrestler. When going to the stage to give his speech, he stumbled a bit up the stairs (too many vodka tonics maybe) and he thanked his dogs?? Yes his dogs.
In an article I found he talks fondly of them and it appears they may have even saved him from taking his own life.
“I have panic attacks when I talk about this stuff,” he says. At his lowest, he says he was sitting in a closet with his favorite dog, Beau Jack, “doing some crazy shit, but I saw a look in Beau Jack’s eyes, and I put the shit down. That dog saved my life. There’s still a little man inside me with an ax — but I keep that little fucker quiet.”

Alright, so we’re all thinking the same thing. But you know what? This man’s talent and will and courage have surpassed the downfalls. I understand that he thanked his dogs- they stood by him through it all. The love of an animal is unconditional. Sometimes people can’t keep others around them. People leave. So we see this man’s fragility as result of years of inward struggle. And now he’s on top, with great strength. This is a warrior if you will. He’s come through. This guy is real. And I hope he wins the fucking Oscar, as a hats off to Hollywood- it would be a beautiful thing.
