WASHINGTON - Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain has chosen Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, campaign officials told NBC News on Friday.

She would be the first woman to serve on a Republican presidential ticket. The pro-life Palin would also be the first Alaskan ever to appear on a national ticket.

Palin, 44, was elected Alaska’s first woman governor in 2006. The state’s voters had grown weary of career politician Gov. Frank Murkowski, whom she defeated in the GOP primary.

Do you agree with McCain's VP choice?

It is that time again!! I can’t wait for this year’s HHN 18. Here is a great article about the creative director of HHN.

He looks unassuming enough. And when he talks dotingly about his two young daughters, he seems like your typical all-American dad. His black T-shirt with classic movie monsters however, should be a tip-off. How many all-American dads develop bizarre rituals in which a seemingly hapless park “volunteer” is plucked from a crowd only to have her throat slit and her writhing body dumped into a pit?

It would be interesting to hear how Michael Roddy answers his daughters’ dinner-table questions when they ask him how work was that day. Roddy, 40, is manager of show development at Universal Orlando and creative director of its annual Halloween Horror Nights. The soft-spoken maestro of the macabre sat down to talk about the art of scaring the snot out of people.

Unlike most park’s Halloween events, which present a collection of unrelated haunted mazes, Universal builds its Halloween Horror Nights around an elaborate unifying theme. For example, past Halloween Horror Nights have featured fully developed characters such as The Director, a demented auteur hell bent on making all too real horror movies.

The Mirror Image of Bloody Mary

For the 2008 version of Universal’s horror-thon, Roddy says he and his team wanted to explore disturbing urban legends, myths, and folklore. One of the most enduring, and perhaps most disturbing myths is Bloody Mary. According to legend, believers go to a mirror, turn out the lights, say her name three times, and–cue the crescendo–Bloody Mary appears in the mirror. (Clive Barker loosely co-opted the myth for his 1992 film, “Candyman.”)

The men who helped Casey Anthony get out of jail said Thursday morning they will take steps to get her locked back up. Casey was still a free woman Thursday, but possibly not for long.

The bail bondsman and the bounty hunter who helped her get out will soon take steps to revoke her bond less than 24 hours after Channel 9 broke the news that scientific evidence found in the trunk of Casey Anthony’s car did match her daughter Caylee and that evidence suggests that Caylee is dead.

The bounty hunter who’s been staying outside of the Anthony home in an RV told Eyewitness News it’s just not safe for Casey Anthony to be out of jail anymore.

Casey Anthony left her parents home in the back of a minivan to visit her attorney at 10:00am Thursday. It could be the last time she sees him outside of jail.

“As far as you’re concerned, she’s going back to jail?” WFTV reporter Daralene Jones asked Padilla on Thursday morning

“As far as I’m concerned, it has to be that way. Like I said, the safety issue,” Padilla told Eyewitness News on Thursday morning.

Padilla said he wants to start the process to revoke her bond as early as Thursday in light of the latest developments and threats he’s received in the last 24 hours.

“Kill the b****. Burn the b****. Fry the b****,” Padilla described.

The harsh words came over the phone right after Eyewitness News broke the story about new FBI test results. A source close to the investigation told Eyewitness News that it proves hair and a stain found inside of Casey Anthony’s white Pontiac belong to her daughter and she is dead.

Orange County detectives were expected to meet with the State Attorney’s office to discuss new evidence in the Caylee Anthony case. A source close to the investigation confirmed for Eyewitness News, that FBI test results show hair and a stain in the trunk of Casey Anthony’s car belong to her daughter, 3-year-old Caylee Anthony. Eyewitness News was also told the evidence found proves that she is dead.

The State Attorney’s Office also confirmed on Wednesday that Casey Anthony was invited to their office to shed light on the disappearance of Caylee. The State Attorney’s Office is not revealing details about the offer of limited immunity. Eyewitness News has learned there is a time limit on that offer, however.

Eyewitness news spoke to a forensic expert to find out how investigators are able to use DNA to determine that a dead body was in Casey’s trunk.

“Just putting the hair under the microscope one can tell the difference between a normal hair root and one that’s been infected with bacteria after death.” stated forensic expert Michael Baden.

Baden is a forensic pathologist who worked extensively on the OJ Simpson case. He also said the inside linings of the mouth and nose release fluid when they begin to decompose and that fluid can also be identified by DNA.

Casey Anthony’s brother Lee said nothing when he left his parents home early Thursday morning. Attorney Jose Baez met with the family for several hours alone. Read the rest of this entry…

More bad news in the case of Caylee Anthony. I can’t believe they are offering her immunity. She deserves every bit of what she gets.

Tests have confirmed the stench in the trunk of Casey Anthony’s car did come from a human body and evidence indicates it could be that of missing 3-year-old Caylee Anthony. Casey was offered limited immunity if she’d help detectives find her missing daughter, but they said the deal expires Thursday.

The State Attorney’s Office confirmed on Wednesday that Casey Anthony was invited to their office to shed light on the disappearance of Caylee. The State Attorney’s Office is not revealing details about the offer of limited immunity.

Investigators met with Casey Anthony on Wednesday afternoon at her attorney’s office. Cindy Anthony was also there. Casey only met with investigators for about 10 minutes and said nothing when she departed. Cindy Anthony left later in the afternoon, followed by the investigators, who were planning to go to the Anthony’s home.

Preliminary results were back from FBI tests on physical evidence found in the trunk of Casey Anthony’s car. The samples were sent to the Body Farm at the University of Tennessee’s Forensic Anthropology Facility and confirmed that there were signs of decomposition in the trunk. The air test they conducted is relatively news, but investigators told Eyewitness News it is very reliable. More On Body Farm

It was Caylee’s grandmother Cindy who first expressed concern about the disgusting stench that came from the trunk of Casey’s car. It came during a 911 call when she reported Caylee was missing.

“It smells like there was a dead body in the damn car,” Cindy told the dispatcher.

Cindy Anthony went on to change her story and say rotting pizza was behind the smell.

Eyewitness News was working to obtain more details on this major development.

In an interview Tuesday night on CNN’s Nancy Grace, bounty hunter Leonard Padilla said he doesn’t think he would have bonded Casey Anthony out of jail if he had read the information contained in 400 pages of documents released related to the case.

“After reading it, I don’t believe I would have talked my nephew Tony Padilla into posting the bond. And I don’t think I would have come to Orlando after reading that. I mean, I’m still hoping that little girl’s alive, but there’s a lot of information in those 400 pages that would lead those people to believe something different,” bounty hunter Leonard Padilla said during an interview with CNN’s Nancy Grace.

The released court records reveal how Orange County Detective Yuri Melich grilled her, saying she could seem “cold, callous and a monster who doesn’t care, who’s just trying to get away with something.” He told her Caylee “may not be the way we or the way your family last remembers her. We need to find out from you where Caylee is. This, this, this right now is just, this has gone so far down hill and this has become such a mess.” Read the rest of this entry…
