Heath Ledger’s last known residence is officially for rent.
The loft apartment in SoHo where the “Dark Knight” co-star died in January – and where Mary-Kate Olsen’s bodyguards curiously arrived before the medics – has been spiffed up and listed for $26,000 a month.
In February, we reported the place was being quietly shopped around – for more than the $22,000 that Ledger paid – just a few weeks after his demise.
“You don’t wait around in a hot rental market like this,” said one broker at the time. “As ghoulish as it sounds, people will rent that place in a heartbeat.”
Or, perhaps not.
Ledger began renting the fourth-floor unit at 419-421 Broome St. last September after finishing his Joker role. It includes three bedrooms, 2½ bathrooms, an office, a laundry room, a gourmet kitchen and an 80-square-foot balcony. Also featured are 15-foot tin ceilings, exposed brick walls and a wood-burning fireplace.

IT didn’t take long for the suits at Johnston & Murphy to react after David Duchovny checked himself into rehab for sex addiction. Yesterday morning, a poster of the fashion retailer’s newest endorser was abruptly yanked from the Johnston & Murphy store window on Madison Avenue and 54th. In July, the company hired Duchovny, who plays a sex-obsessed writer in “Californication,” to appear in ads breaking this month nationwide. A spokesman for the Nashville, Tenn.-based company said at the time, “We are thrilled. David embodies success and confidence, along with a great sense of style, communicating the ideal image for the Johnston & Murphy brand.” But when a customer asked what had happened to Duchovny’s picture, a clerk confessed, “We got the call from corporate this morning to take him down.”
LOS ANGELES – DNA evidence has linked an air conditioning repairman to the stabbing deaths of three women, including a former girlfriend of actor Ashton Kutcher, police said Friday.
Michael Gargiulo, 32, of Santa Monica has been in custody since July for a separate knife attack and could face murder charges as soon as next week, police said.
Santa Monica police Lt. Darrell Lowesaid DNA collected from a crime scene last spring helped link Gargiulo to the stabbing deaths of women from Los Angeles, suburban Chicago and Monterey Park.
One of the cases involves 22-year-old Ashley Ellerin, Kutcher’s former girlfriend, who was found dead in February 2001 in her Hollywood Hills home.

I knew it would be a matter of time before they found something else to go pick her up. Check fraud? Not in the least bit surprising seeing how she stole from her parents and grandmother. This woman makes me frustrated and I want something done!! How can a mother be like she is? Total bullshit!
Casey Anthony made a very brief appearance before an Orange County judge Saturday afternoon on charges related to check fraud.
Anthony appeared with her attorney, Jose Baez. She did not speak and the hearing lasted no more than a minute or two. The judge reaffirmed the $3,000 bond Anthony is behind held on in connection with charges of forgery, theft and using fraudulent information.
Orange County deputies took her back into custody at her home Friday evening. Also overnight, the bond company that posted her original bond, revoked it. Company officials said they would likely wait until next week to decide whether or not to reinstate it. Read the rest of this entry »
The root of the problem is Casey herself!! She needs to be back in jail where the other inmates can take care of this “problem” themselves. She makes me absolutely nauseated. What a piece of work.
Bounty hunter Leonard Padilla made a surprising change in plans late Friday morning when he told Eyewitness News he will not be taking Casey Anthony back to jail, something he’d been insisting as recently as 30 minutes earlier.
Padilla’s surprising change in plans comes on the same day he insisted she would be returned to jail Saturday and said he was sure Caylee is dead.
“I guess the breaking news is that Casey will not be surrendered by Mr. Padilla,” attorney Jose Baez announced late Friday morning. “It was really about the two of us [Baez and Padilla] just sitting down and discussing it and going down to the root of the problem.”
